I will have to attend the ceremony to find out if I have actually placed as a prizewinner. Regardless, I will receive a plaque and autographed poster from the celebrity judges and our whole family will be photographed. It will also draw media attention, so we might be interviewed.
The most amazing part was the woman saying that they had read over 300 essays and whittled them down to ten.
I feel lucky and special indeed.

Awesome. Sorry you have to wait for the final result. When is the big day? As my neighbor's daughter would say, "You ROCK!"
Lucky? Maybe. Talented and Special though? Most definitely. Where will this be held too -and when? Look at the can of questions you opened up to us now! This really is good and very exciting news.
I hate waiting!!!!The suspense must be killing you- but great job being in the top ten out of 300! that's an A+ :) (have to get back to my teacher mode and grading routine!)
I'm with everyone else - you certainly are special and i'm not surprised in the least that they included you. I think you are a wonderful writer and an even more wonderful person! I can't wait to hear how it turns out! Aunt Terri is right - you earn an A+!
