Soccer Celebration

The soccer season is drawing to a close with the final game on Saturday. The Steelers celebrated at Peter Piper Pizza last night. Ian and Trevor were pretty excited about the pirate hooks they had gotten at Michael's just prior to the party.

The boys (Thomas and Ian) played several games, including race cars and Skeeball. Connor turned the wheel on several games and also desperately wanted to join another birthday party at another table where a huge chocolate cake was the highlight.

Ian received a trophy with his name and his soccer team photos. We put the trophy and team photo on his shelf.

No one really wanted to cooperate for photos but I tried. I also took a video, which I am still working to upload. The cute part was Coach calling Ian and Trevor the Dynamic Duo. I am not sure how 'dynamic' their soccer playing was, but they are quite a duo.

Loved the pics of the boys! I really like pictures of little kids in which you can really get a glimpse of the devilment brewing inside that child via their eyes - just the way they light up and smile in their own way ya know!

Wow, seems like I just flew to AZ with my pom poms to start the season. I am glad the season was such a success.

So did Ian or Thomas have more fun at the banquet?

Connor sounds like my Mattie..heads straight for those games you sit down and drive a race car although he really doesn't drive like one should, and yes, he would've made a beeline for the other party, as well.

I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to you until now but in answer to your question about sign language..yes, it is currently being implemented into his program. He's being taught mainly necessary words like "more", "food", "drink" etc. The thing with sign language is the user must be able to initiate conversation, hold eye contact and imitate, in order to learn. With my son, he doesn't initiate conversation, just enough to let you know his desires of the moment. My advice is to just do the same...the signs for immediate wants and maybe short phrases and then build from there. Hopefully Connor, and Mattie, will pick up on it one day. *smiles* Here's a great site I use for my class: http://www.aslpro.com/

If there's anything else I can help you with, please send me an email...you can find that on the contact page of my blog.

Good luck to you and yours, Linda! *HUGS*
