AZ Senate, Here I Come!

Well, in a funky turn of events, I am now a keynote speaker for the Senate Committee hearing tomorrow afternoon for the Arizona Commission on the Arts. One of six speakers and I will represent arts education, Sonoran Desert Chorale, artists-in-residence and provide a parental viewpoint.

All in under 2 minutes.

My hands are sweating as I type....but it isn't about me. It's about the post below and please pass it on to any Arizona friends who can drop an email.

Please send good thoughts (unagi) about 1:15pm MST and probably through that hour. My friend Julie is going with me to be a friendly face and hopefully help me not to be so nervous. But more importantly than supporting me, send good thoughts for the arts commission's effort on our behalf.

THANK YOU to all who tried to email. I appreciate your help and good efforts.

Wow! Youse is a celebrity. Congratulations. The arts/the Chorale and parents are all well represented in you and I know you will do a splendid job. Good thoughts will be wafting your way at the appointed hour and to the Senate committee too.

I did send the link to your blog to my remaining AZ contacts this morning. I don't know if any of them have taken action, but I hope so.

The music of truth will sing from you. I have no doubt that you will speak well and be well heard.

You know Linda, I have complete and utter faith in you, in your ability to present the best possible bits of information pertaining to the necessity of keeping these programs. Children need not just math, science, English (grammer and literature, history and the like but they also need outlets as well as a way to develop appreciation of the arts for many and varied reasons. You go, Girl! Rock 'em! You can, you will do it!

That's awesome! You'll do great! Remember, if you get nervous, just start speaking in a British accent :-)

I got here just in time!

I have slipped a rubber-band onto my wrist and will pull at it for next couple of hours to push my good karma quickly west, toward you.

You won't need it though - it'll just be extra, you will be fine and will do a great job.

Can't wait to hear about it.
