My next neighbor stopped by yesterday to say she would be holding a garage sale this morning, with a hint that several Thomas trains would be available if the boys were interested. I walked over this morning and got Connor a Thomas pillow and blanket and a race car tower. The boys later saw the sale and wanted to walk over. We ended getting a bunch of plastic Thomas tracks and trains, a broken Transformer and a squirt gun. The boys have been happy playing all morning with their new toys. Even the broken Transformer has been enjoyable for Ian.

How FUN! This brought back many memories of a new toy. Toys that are cool stretch our imaginations and make it greta to just be a kid. Thank you for your very kind comments about Trevor Tredaway on my site. (((HUGS)))!

Yard sales can be such fun. I used to frequent them all the time when my kids were little. I was always on the lookout for table lamps, since my son so often threw himself onto the sofa, feet flying, and managed to hit another one.
Gotta love a good yard sales. Annika and Trevor always find something in a 25 cent bin to entertain them for hours..
It is amazing how kids don't need really need the fancy stuff that costs a lot of money- Michael and I were very excited that Ian and Connor liked the boxes got for their last visit.
Yep! Sounds like a darned good deal you -and the boys -got with those toys and that you didn't have to shell out a ton of money for 'em too, well that is really the icing on the cake!
Yesterday, Mandy -along with my son's girlfriend and about 5 of her friends/neighbors got together and had a big yard sale. Friday night, Mandy and Maya were at the girlfriend's house getting things ready and when they came home, Maya had a "Princess" hatbox, filled to the brim with several different "Princess" outfits -including some really nifty princess fairy wands too, as well as slide high heels in young girls sizes, etc. These had all belonged to the girlfriend's little girl and Maya has been in 7th heaven since getting this box of pretend dress-up clothes! All for a song too compared to the price they would have cost had Mandy bought them brand new and Maya doesn't see any difference between new and used at all! Just lots of fun is all this is to her and it works quite well with Mandy and me too!
Yay! Love cheap toys that the actually love! And you're doing your part in being green at the same time. ;-)
