A request of all of you. This Thursday, a father in Chandler, AZ killed his two young children and then himself. The girl was four years old and the boy was a student at one of my schools, a 1st grader. It appears that this man needed serious help and should not have been allowed to care for these children. It is too late for what should have happened. It feels like a selfish act to not allow these little ones the opportunity to be loved and cared for by others. You never know when you are to become an angel.I did not teach the student, but the families, students and teachers are struggling through this. I would be so thankful if you could put these people in your thoughts today.

That is so heartbreaking to hear about acts like this. It's hard enough when someone takes his/her own life but to kill the innocent children too is just so senseless. I wish there were better options available for people who need mental health help (as this man obviously needed) but sadly, mental health is one that seems to rank pretty much on the bottom of the priority scale and it should be at the top, cause if your mind is sick, it will not allow your body to operate at its best either then.
This must be tough for your school to deal with-death is always tough, but when it is such a tradegy like this it seems so senseless.
